Genesis 19 and the Bug Out Bag

As men and leaders of our households, we are expected to take care of ourselves and our families. And part of that is having a contingency plan for the many dangers that the world has. In this example, we're going to look at Lot, and God's judgement on Sodom and Gomorrah and what we can take away from that today in regards to preparation.

So now that you've read Genesis 19 and have familiarized yourself with the context, we're going to move right into the importance of having a Bug Out Bag, commonly known as a BOB. This is a bag that is to be used for emergencies when you have to leave immediately. You never know when danger will bring itself to your front door. In this case, God was raining down fire and sulphur onto the city, and Lot had to be literally dragged out of the city with nothing but his family and the clothes on his back. Not fun.

If God called you to flea today would you be ready? Or would you have to be dragged out with nothing? With that asked, this article is not about building a BOB, but about asking the question. I may do some writing and videos about building a BOB later, but for now, you need to ask yourself the tough questions. Learn from the mistakes of others. There's a ton of lessons to be learned from Lot, take the time, read the scripture and gain the wisdom to be the best man you can be.
