SIDE GIG: GET SOME!

May I introduce you? Life, this is you. You, this is life.

Feel like you're not making enough money at your job? You probably aren't. Or, you're spending too much time at the guns store. Or both. Or maybe you're wife's getting on you about that budget for Christmas (biggest budget of the year by the way). Need an extra K? Me too. So let's figure out what to do about it.

The side gig/hustle is the man's way to bring in some extra cash on their time off. It's essentially a second, part-time job. Usually contracted, and not committed to an employer (or it would just be a second part-time job, right?). This is a way to bring in a little something extra into the household every month. And the way that so many jobs pay today, it's basically a necessity for most Americans (whether they do it or not).

So what can you do? Here's a few ideas in no particular order:

1. Uber/Lyft/whatever else is out there. Driving people around.

2. Paper Route (that's still a thing)

3. Pyramid Sales (not really recommended however catalogues do still make money)

4. Online affiliate marketing (review, and get a cut of the sale)

5. Online Advertising (Post the links on your site)

6. Sell stuff (Merch can be lucrative, especially if you've got a cool idea)

7. Run a blog (wait, I'm doing that!)

8. Become a weekend musician (My neighbor does it, makes some good cash)

9. Handyman (Fix stuff on call)

10. Dog walker (this is actually a thing)

11. Resale furniture (I have a friend that makes a killing pulling furniture from rich people's garbage, you wouldn't believe the stuff they throw out)

12. Teaching (I teach CHL courses in my area, but you can teach whatever you know)

13. Notary Signing Agent (Get a notary, and make 75-100 dollars an hour doing mortgage closings)

14. Insurance (Get your insurance license and sell on the side)

15. Write (write for a blog, or freelance for whoever on the topic of whatever)

16. Recruiting (find an organization that you like and recruit for them...Join the NRA...through my link...it's on the contact page...)

17. Start a Go Fund Me

18. House Cleaning (cleaners don't make a lot for their time, but it is a gig)

19. Investing (learn the stock market and give it a go)

20. Speaking (Be a public speaker, and speak on something. Call your local churches/event areas, and do a gig or two for free until you can start to charge a few hundred bucks)

With all of this written, I hope you got something out of it. I will say that there are no shortcuts to anything in life. Whatever you choose to do will take time, and energy. But if you're looking to boost your bottom line, nothing doe it like a side gig. Find something you don't mind doing and get out there and find a way to make it work. No excuses.
