Tis the season....To worship Jesus!
I've never been a fan of Santa. In my opinion Santa is nothing more than a made up character that we lie to our children about, who takes all the credit for the hard work we put in every year. And worse than that, Santa steals the real meaning of Christmas, which is not "Christmas Spirit", it's Jesus Christ.
We did the Santa thing with our kids (reluctantly). Every year our kids couldn't wait for "Santa" to deliver presents, when in reality it was my wife running around town, fighting crowds, and wrapping presents throughout the night. How she deserved the credit for all of the hard work. So, in this article, she's getting it. My wife is awesome at Christmas.
Also I want to talk about the idea of "Happy Holidays". The corporate response to a politically correct time. No thanks. I'm going with Merry Christmas. Two reasons. It's Jesus' birthday, and it's a federal holiday. so why not say Merry Christmas?
So in the season, remember the birth of Jesus. Our God who came to earth. Remember that it's about Him. Let's be thankful for all that He did, and all that He gave. Men, lead your families in the truth. Don't let mediocrity steal the day from God, or from your responsibility to praise God.
