Everybody Wants Your Loyalty

Updated: Jan 6, 2019

Companies, governments, family, friends, everybody wants your loyalty. But you have the freedom to give that to whom you will. You are free to believe what you will. And you should be very careful with that responsibility. Jesus did say something about throwing your pearls before swine. Don't be that guy. So here's some advice on this:

1. Your Loyalty is First to God

If you're not loyal to God, get loyal now. And to the One, True God. Not some false God. Get squared away with the Most High first before you do anything else. And serve Him first no matter what.

2. Family

I hope you read my article on finding a good wife, because next on the list is loyalty to your spouse and children. As a husband and father you took on that role, now own it.

3. Country

We're all born into a country, and we need to be loyal to that country. There's nothing wrong with that. Of course, if you're born into a dictatorship or something. You do what you have to do, but in America, we have a system of self-government. So be loyal to the Constitution, and to your country. Be a good citizen.

4. Your Word

I once had a college professor say this, "The best thing you could ever do is follow through with what you say". What he was getting at is being authentic, and serious about ourselves. So, if you say it, mean it. And if you're going to do something, follow through. Be loyal to your word. There's a lot of honor in it, and that is a commodity that is in short supply.

Everybody is vying for you to join the team, and there's a lot of bad teams out there. Stake your claim and own it. Be loyal to God and family. Country, and yourself. And don't worry about anything else. Forget about Ford vs. Chevy, the Browns vs. Steelers, and all that non-sense. It's just distractions, and it's not important.

Last note. Stay away from loyalty to evil. The Devil wants you too. So be on your guard. Remember, we're soldiers, and soldiers are vigilant.
