Take the Journey

We've all heard the saying that life is a marathon, and not a sprint. And so it is with our spiritual journey. I've been a follower of God going on a decade now. And in that time, I've read the Bible, gone to churches, listened to numerous preachers on the radio, t.v. and internet, Gone to multiple Christian colleges, debated the merits of different systematic theologies, and have spent a lot of time downright confused. And the journey continues.

"Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks the door will be opened". Matthew 7:7-8

We, as men, and believers need to be on the constant spiritual journey to know God, His Word, and His ways. We need to be seeking out the truth at all cost. Settling for less will not do us any good at all. It will only hurt us. We need to be in the scripture, seeking truth. We need to be on this journey, and we need to be serious about it.

This journey may cost you everything. But Jesus has a saying for that too. Something about a man selling everything he had to buy the land the pearl was on. Are you willing? The past few months, the Lord has been working in me to guide me closer to Him. It's been a journey filled with ups and downs. I've questioned everything I thought I knew, and have come out better for it. So with that, take the journey. Read the word, and act on it.
